once again,

you don't poop on the same floor that you work.
it's just not done.
go upstairs.
or downstairs.
or hell, across the street.

why do the brave men & women in blue
who risk their lives (and mental health)
dealing with the bottom feeders of society
direct traffic on the side streets of small towns?

i understand the interstates.
i agree with the major arteries
and congested areas.

but honestly...what sort of hostilities are they
expecting on wisteria lane
that requires a sidearm?

oh sure...so it's been what MONTHS?
bah.

i think about writing everyday.
usually when i'm in the bathroom at work.
my own morning constitutional, as it were.

i'm reading the Assassins Gate by George Packer
just finished (seriously 10 minutes ago) Lipstick Jihad
and yesterday completed Three Junes by Julia Glass

i DO love being able to curl up and read all day
especially when it's raining outside
nevermind the basement floods
or that gina and i went to boston for an hour
to visit her mom still in ICU at boston medical
and drove home with a VERY nervous vizsla sitting in my lap
in a terribly terrific thunderstorm

the other day a friend of ours asked
if gina and i thought about having children.

i replied that i thought about having children
the way most people
think about having an iguana.

(or any of the various large tropical American lizards of the family Iguanidae, often having spiny projections along the back)

yup.
i did it.
got 2 r/t non-stop flights to myrtle beach
$9 each way = $18 r/t + $20 for taxes, title, etc.

not a bad gig.
spirit air also had $9 tickets to detroit.
but i could not, for the life of me, figure out
why one would fly to detroit... even for $9.

now i just need to find a fabulous golf vacation deal!
for myrtle beach.
not detroit.
