on a spring cleaning note:
the old Argentinean hardwood bed has left the building.
i put it out on the front lawn
(as one is want to do in nh)
and it finally disappeared 24 hours later
with $20 tossed in the mailbox

molly came over and helped paint the dog house (er, condo)
she managed to get a great deal of paint on her
some paint even landed on the doghouse

it wasn't until i tried to wash up
that i discovered the joys of OIL based exterior paint.
it don't wash off with water.
and Molly was covered with paint.
covered.

Molly suggested fingernail polish remover.
I thought gasoline would be better.
so we sat in the driveway
and rubbed ourselves with rags & gas

smelled just like summer as a little kid

returned 8 books to 3 libraries
golly.
i'm a happy camper.

went to ellie's christening
even attended the mass beforehand
(wearing armani, naturally)

the one thing that always reminds me of
church and sunday mornings is

donuts

and sure enough
after mass
there were donuts in the fellowship hall

except i missed the chocolate frosted ones
they were already gone.
the ladies auxiliary tried to push the
chocolate cake ones on me
but i saw through their ruse.
it's just not the same.

i installed a new floor in the mud room.
faux granite tile.
the secret is starting in the middle of the room
NOT at one edge
because if you go outward from the middle
the if you are a wee bit off
it's just the edges that are crooked

if you start at the edge
by the time you get to the center of the room
you'll be completely f'd

i've now painted the mud room 4 times

good christ on a cracker.
