Bourbon and Bon Vivants
and other stuff your Daddy should have taught you....
It's a Boy!
a 4 year old boy.
60 pounds of Vizsla
all shy and timid and scared
sitting in a sun puddle on the porch
lord help me.
he couldn't stay where he was
and i couldn't leave him
so he came home
and now there are 2 boys in my life,
Henri and Toemas (his name was Butch
but you can see how that had to change)
Art versus Skill
Sunday, September 26, 2004
at what point does skill become art?
or are they 2 very different things?
can you have one without the other?
discuss.
i know that i cannot take an image from my head
and reproduce it on any sort of media
(2 dimension or 3D)
therefore, recognize that i do not have SKILL
but i still have the mental model of what the image should be
to make a music analogy...
anyone can play the notes, but that doesn't make it music
sushi & sake
Saturday, September 25, 2004
friday night was sushi and sake night.
hot sake to start
which is very difficult to find nowadays
as hot sake was notoriously used to
mask cheap/not so good sake
then a chilled sake
then a sake in a wooden box
then some giggling
and wee diatribe on some
very skillful woodcut prints at an ice-cream shop
(two words...apple crisp ice-cream)
Distillers Masterpiece & Friends
Monday, September 13, 2004
last year i drank 18-yr old Distillers Masterpiece
with friends
one year later, i repeated this act
with the same friends.
funny how much changes in a year
and how much hasn't
knowing what i know today
how would i have changed this past year?

Sunday, September 12, 2004

note to self...
