just finished reading,

started it this morning
finished it tonight
haven't done that in a while.
i miss reading.
there was a time when i read 3-4 books a week.

and the only reason i read this book
was because i recognized the name of the author
as having the same name as one of my ex's ex.
did you follow all that?
no matter. it's not the same person.

i currently have 7 books checked out of the library

*the sex lives of cannibals*
are both overdue..as of 07/08.
i felt compelled to read them
or at least give it a go

next up, finish *Candy Freak* by Steve Almond
then *Queen of the South* by Arturo Perez-Reverte

how pathetic was david lee roth
at the hatchshell?
why...oh why, would this man
agree to *do a few numbers*
at the boston pops 4th of july celebration?

poor thing couldn't even jump.
old.
puffy.
strangely effeminate.
and who told him he looked good
in that outfit?

but damn, that 1812 overture still sends chills

my second 18 holes.
blisters on my right foot.
2 good drives
a nice putt
and 30+ sunscreen.

pity my shower only has one temperature
because today would have been really nice
if the shower had been cool
but hey, nothing been 5 hours in the sun
followed by a steaming hot shower...

at least the beer was cold.

oh, and found out there was a shooting last night
across the street from where gina & I had been eating dinner

made 2 pecan pies last night
and a batch of hush puppies.

i didn't realize how long it has been
since i actually baked
we are talking years.
years, i tell you

and other than knocking a cup of
brown sugar onto the floor...
the cooking adventure
was only a mildly messy event

and the pies were yummy
and only one person had ever
had a hush puppy before
(much less ever eaten one)
