that i've moved away from my
original concept of the blog

that being food and drink pairings

rest assured,
there are many new whiskies
in the collection
and several wines in the cupboard

dinner parties to resume shortly.

christ, i suck
i keep forgetting that i
crumpled the running board on
the vw bug in august
and it still hasn't been fixed

now i must decide whether to
fix it without insurance
or take the 2 point hit
against my insurance

and now there are 2 cats.
sommersby has joined his half-sister, kennedy (the former Grady of JP)
not related by anything other than
both being black cats
but that's close enough for me
after all...
love makes a family
as we like to say

now there is just the issue of the white one
and whether or not this new duo
will be come a trio.
hmmmmm....a tough call

ankle alert...
the ankle looks like it did
when i was 8 yrs old
and got stung by a wasp

meaning...it's HUGE and bruised
up to my calf and
down to my toes.
but other than that....
it don't hurt.
much.

had a scotch tasting last night
at the boston racquet club
had a lovely time
until i fell down the stairs
upon leaving

i believe i've torn up my right knee
and screwed up my left ankle
augh
and i even hit my head on the marble
not graceful
not even a little bit

and so...after all the swelling goes down
amanda will be back at the hospital
sigh

but then again, for $7.98....how much a fool am i?

really.

i have a warm terrier in my lap.
which, frankly, could mean any athlete from
boston university
but in this case, it is really a boston terrier named sid
all 20 lbs of him
and his love muffin-ness
damn he's cute.

i helped eat an 8 lb lobster last night
EIGHT POUNDS
holy bat guts

and interestingly enough
it wasn't too bad

not that i'm going to try that again
anytime soon.

0-6 in regular season play verses bc
which means it doesn't count last year's beanpot
poor jackie parker
nothing says give money to build me a new rink
like a team that is mediocre

over the past 4 days i have eaten a total of
39 oz of froot loops
2 BIG boxes
and i am a happy
albeit, very sugared, girl

last book finished: the dirty girls social club by alisa valdes-rodriguez
gotta love books by the bu alumna
(ahem...amanda...get your ass in gear)
book started for the 3rd time: that damn, A World Lit Only by Fire....

also read Robert Parker's latest paradise novel.
god help me..i love robert parker novels

plus i'm off to wilton to dogsit/housesit/millsit
they have a mill
wonder how one actually sits for a mill?

ate at a new vietnamese restaurant last night
in chinatown
they had 7 course beef
which is apparently very difficult to find

it was lovely
like shabu-shabu
with better sauce

and the cutest sake bottles

too bad it was -4 degrees outside

have a job interview tomorrow
and nothing to wear
everything i own is too big
i have moved down into the single digit sizes

MOTHER OF GOD

there has been nothing in my life in single digits
since i was nine
going on 40

just so we all know i have now been on hold
with the MA dept of employment for 27 minutes

and my home phone is still not hooked up.
