this just get's curious-er and curious-er
apparently 16 units closed on friday
at the same time as we were closing
the city of boston rescinded the certificate of occupancy

therefore, the 16 units have not
and will not be recorded with the city

SO basically
according to the state of MA
i have not closed on my unit.
the ream of paperwork that i so lovingly signed
is null
and void.

and the bank will most likely have me close again

does make me wonder when....
oh, and where do we think my floors are at this point?
it's just like Finding Nemo
only without the cute voices

ok. so i've now closed.
but i can't move in.
can't have furniture brought over.
can't have a contractor come in
can't sleep over.
i CAN paint, but i can't do that until at monday
maybe.
i have keys, but i don't think they work yet
don't know because i can't go over there

and i am supposed to pull a permit
to put in my floors.
even though i'm doing it myself
and i can't pull the permit
because i don't have a cert. of occupancy
and who knows when that will be

and the poor guy that tried to deliver my floors today
got chased off the property by irate union guys

nice.

you know...sometimes i'm just too damn lazy
to remove the fob from my pants pocket
(the little thingy that let's me into the back door of the office)
and there i stand
gyrating
trying to make the fob activate and unlock the door
and i do believe it's a bit unseemly
if not downright suggestive

loft alert
2pm - rec'd call from bank lawyer. all set to close noon tomorrow
3pm - rec'd another call from bank lawyer, problem that he's not equipped to handle
3:02 - teensy amounts of acerbity, acrimony, agitation, animosity, apoplexy, asperity, bitterness, choler, ceruption, exasperation, fury, gall, hysterics, indignation, ire, irritation, madness, mania, obsession, outburst, paroxysm, passion, rampage, raving, resentment, tantrum, temper, umbrage, uproar, upset, vehemence, and lest we forget....wrath

"THEY" tell me i will close on my loft
friday at noon.

i chose to celebrate by eating
four bowls of froot loops.

we shall see which does more harm.

Tuesday, November 18, 2003

who am i kidding.
this loft will never close
and i'm going to end up living in my car

Monday, November 17, 2003

omg..it might actually happen
i might actually close on my loft.
mustn't get excited
mustn't pass out.

stayed tuned for the latest updates.

the olympics have now decided to allow
transsexuals to compete in the olympics

http://espn.go.com/oly/news/2003/1113/1661123.html

i find it interesting that the olympics
will allow transsexuals
and the michigan womyn's music festival
will not

and so now it's thursday
i hope everyone thanked a veteran on the 11th

i went on a wee bit of a clothes shopping spree
as we all know, my winter clothes are in storage
and frankly, i was getting cold

so i bought a jacket and a coat
and well, a pair of khaki's
i did NOT buy the pastel plaid knit cap in Ralph Lauren
but points should be deducted anyway
because i did think about it.

oh, and please, please..
for the love of all that's holy
don't ever wear ankle boots with a skirt
okay?

to sum up....

this weekend had a horrible bagel at what was billed at
*best bagels in town*
let's just say, swampscott ain't brookline
then had fried clams at 10AM to make myself feel better.
strangely, that actually worked

dinner party saturday night
fabulous time
watched the lunar eclipse
did you notice the moon turned claret upon the total eclipse?
well, it did.

took a drag off a cigarette during the total eclipse
seemed like a racy thing to do
and i was livin' on the edge

the best hot chocolate in boston
nay, new england
nay, the east coast
well, boston anyway
is at LA Burdick Chocolatier in Harvard Square
dear dog in heaven
as the dyslexic’s say
and for $4 you too can have a wee piece of heaven

but DO drink it in the cup and saucer
it simply doesn't taste the same out of a paper cup.

anyone else read this week's newsweek
about amazon's "search inside the book" ?
amazon scanned 120,000 books
and users can type a name or phrase
and come up with a report of instances
where they appear in the book

users can view 2 pages on either side of the citation
(but cannot print)

holy cows!

why do people flush kleenex?
truly.
i mean those that use the toilet as a watery trash can.
do they realize they are wasting 10 gallons of water with every flush?
my friend mitzi does it

of course, with a name like mitzi, such things are to be expected
but i expect better from the rest of you.

two words:

half-price halloween candy

feel the sugar coma.
who wants a nap?
and perhaps a tylenol?

saturday dinner at Gallia in the South End.
i had the duck.
and an apple sidecar.
and the table shared a wonderful bottle of st. emilion
but i cannot for the life of me remember the ch.
rats.

although, to be fair, i would have loved to have tried the
Ch. Pavie 2000 St. Emilion
but sadly, it was not available at the restaurant
WA gave it a 100 rating, WS a 96
with a maturity 2012-2050.
and at $350, i don't know how much i would have been able to drink
without having to take out a personal loan.

sunday night was a rye sampling:
sazerac 18 yr old versus the hirsch 13 yr old rye.

the sazerac: Amber chestnut color. Huge, spicy aroma. Very mature, with notes of oak, leather, and molasses. Enormous in every respect, from its thick, chewy texture to its unbelievably spicy and very powerful flavors. The long, warm finish is preceded by notes of mint, eucalyptus, cinnamon, vanilla, molasses, oak, leather, and lingering pepper.

the hirsch: Sweet. Powerful. More caramel than the sazerac. And doesn't quite put the hair on your chest the way the sazerac can. Less oak but still a very nice mouthfeel. Hints of bitter chocolate and coffee.
