Shalimar the Clown by Salman Rushdie

so what if it takes you a month to read
or six
or that it is 800 pages
compressed into 400
by tiny type
and wee margins

read it.
read it slowly.
savor it.
like a fabulous bottle of wine
that you opened on a tuesday
just because.

I read "Midnight's Children" by Rushdie last year, also a slow read, but worth the effort (I think)

Really? I don't care for anything "clown". 800 pages...I can do that but clowns I can't. I don't say I can't about much.

I suggest Snow Flower and the Secret Fan - wonderful book. One of the better books I've read in a long, long time.
